A Mother's Quest
October 18th, 2010 began the journey for Sandy Lee, when her 36 year old son Darvis Lee Jr mysteriously disappeared. The events involving her and her families search, led this author to know she had to tell the story of
"No Unturned Stone" - A Mother's Quest.
A short time after NUS was out, sitting next to a children's author,
Sandy came up with the idea of "Hermie the Bug."
Her first children's book.
Darvis Jr., as a young boy named some harmless beetles Hermie bugs.
Based on a true story.
"Life, Love and Loss" is a poetry book of 40 personally written poems by Sandy Lee.
13 of these poems are also in NUS.
"Remembering Grandma" is her second children's book.
A special relationship with Grandma.
A young boy tells the story.
Sandy Lee's newest addition is "My Heart Remembers."
Dealing with a mom with Alzheimer's can be heartbreaking.
As the American novelist and short story writer, Veronica Roth has said,
"Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now."
Sandy chose to mainly write down the things that brought laughter instead of sorrow.
A book filled with vignettes, covering a six year span of moments with her mom.
All of them will touch your heart.
